Rare “Chincheta” coffee table designed in 1987 by Catalan brothers Sergi and Oscar Devesa for the Spanish design label Disform. The sculptural shape is inspired by a drawing pin (“chincheta” in Spanish) and made from a single cut and bent piece of cast aluminum, originally finished with a speckled grey epoxy coating.
This particular table has been painted white on the top and sides by a previous owner, while the underside retains its original finish. The structure is solid and the rubber feet are intact, but the surface shows visible wear and paint chipping (see photos).
A collector’s item from the postmodern Spanish design movement.
